HI! We are Rico and Steven and are passionate about mental and physical well-being! Our journey started together, 9 years ago in 2011 at a gym in Washington D.C.
We are excited to bring the SweatHouz™ brand to New Jersey, our home state!
The NJ Sweat Group is a business focused on building a community around our SweatHouz stores in New Jersey focused on a culture of mental and physical well-being, enhancing the lives of our community, and being involved to foster a diverse and inclusive environment.
Barrel is the heart and soul of NJ Sweat! He is an 8 year old Golden Doodle that can be see overseeing our operations at the various studios, sometimes even helping with painting, and overseeing the laborious jobs!
Barrel will never say no to a tasty treat, will almost always be sleeping on the job, and will always be there to put a smile on our member’s faces!

Steven is focused on our member’s experience! Steven focuses on the locations of our studios, and how our members will engage with SweatHouz both from the exterior all the into the private saunas.
You might meet Steven, checking you in at the front desk, making sure you have a fresh lemongrass towel, or getting you all set up in the plunge pool!
Steven is a Massachusetts native, return Peace Corp Volunteer, and Georgetown Law J.D Graduate. When Steven isn’t at one of our Studios he is practicing law as a Partner for a global law firm, focusing on M&A in the Life Sciences space. Steven is also, known as Barrels’ nice dad.

Chief Experience Officer
Rico is focused on the daily operations of NJ Sweat and our SweatHouz Studios throughout New Jersey. Rico oversees the company as the Managing Partner to ensure we are right on track!
You might meet Rico, serving a shift as a cleaner, check-in clerk, or manager at our locations, Rico collaborates with the SweatHouz corporate team and is often the voice of our New Jersey members. Rico partners with the studio leadership to ensure we are providing the best sweat possible!
Rico is a Washington native, a military veteran of 8 years, and a Georgetown M.B.A Graduate. Prior to founding NJ Sweat, Rico was a Marketing Executive for some notable brands like Lamborghini, Lord & Taylor, and Meta. Also, known as Barrels’ mean dad.

Janie is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing. Passionate about wellness and helping others achieve their best, Janie brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their role as Director of Operations at SWTHZ.
In this capacity, Janie oversees strategic planning and execution to optimize operations and enhance productivity within SWTHZ. With a focus on cultivating a culture of wellness and success, Janie drives initiatives that empower individuals to feel better, do better, and achieve holistic wellness.
Aside from her professional endeavors, Janie is a dedicated mom, wife, and proud dog mom of two, balancing a fulfilling family life while doing what she loves

Director of Studio Operations
Adam is the operational finance leader for NJ Sweat. Anything with a number comes his way for review, analysis and safekeeping. Adam owns the accounting, modeling and financial strategy for the team.
Adam closely partners with the NJ Sweat executive team to drive optimal business decisions, enhance business efficiency and enable strategic and tactical growth. By carefully managing the financials, Adam strives to provide the best experience for the best value for all of you!
Adam is a Navy Veteran, marathon runner and a Kelley School of Business MBA and MSF holder. As a small business CFO, pricing consultant and financial analyst, Adam has a wide breadth of Finance experience.

Karen Perez is a seasoned professional with a rich background in the Clark County School District, serving as a principal for many years until her retirement. Her expertise lies in employee and labor relations, professional development, team leadership, and executive coaching.
Karen is adept at handling sensitive and complex investigations, managing grievances and arbitrations, implementing progressive discipline models, and conducting contract negotiations. Her proficiency extends to managing EEOC, ADA, FMLA, and unemployment claims, as well as talent acquisition and retention.

Bailee is our manager of People and Culture and the conduit between team members and leadership.
She’s in every meeting to take notes and divide up items among the entire team. She truly is the backbone of our team, ensuring that all projects are not just completed but polished to perfection.
Her diligent support allows the rest of the team to focus on delivering the premium, first-class service that we strive to provide to all our clients.

Amanda oversees see our Member Experience and Studio Operations at our SWTHZ Garwood location at The Vermella (450 S. Ave, Garwood) and sits on the Studio Operations Leadership team
Amanda holds a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science, from Rutgers University and brings a wealth of experience with brands like Orangetheory Fitness in physical fitness and physical therapy, making her an excellent addition to our team
Her passion for fitness is matched by her enthusiasm for watching soccer games and her talent for spinning beats as a DJ!
